Labeling Chemicals (and other things)

Those of you that have read over all the new regs that came out and were effective as of 1/1/25, or if you have taken any CEU's since January, have probably read the new regulation in section 87309 - STORAGE SPACE AND ACCESS that states :
(a) (2) Any items in subsection (a)(1) that are transferred from their original container to another container shall have a legible label that indicates:
(A) Name of product on the original container, and
(B) Any product warnings indicated on the original label.
What does this mean exactly and how are we going to do that? Well, PRIOR to this new requirement, we were most likely just putting one of those mailing labels on the container that we transferred the cleaning chemical into and wrote "Windex" or "formula 409" or something. NOW, we have to have all the other stuff like warnings! That's not easy to just handwrite on the label, and we're not going to take the label off the original big container to stick on the smaller one.... so is there an easy way?
The answer is... absolutely!
I have had this little label printer for about two years now, and I use it for printing out pictures with my nieces and nephew so they can stick them all over their binders and notebooks, but you can TOTALLY use this as an easy way to make those labels. It connects easily to your phone using the Phomemo app which has a number of neat features. The best part? There is no ink, and it comes with a few rolls so you can test out which one works best for you. You can print endless amounts with the right paper. I like the plain solid sticker paper, but the translucent one is pretty neat also.
You can get extra rolls of the sticker paper separately as well. The link to your right (click on the picture) is for a 3 pack of white adhesive paper. They should last you for quite a while if you are only using them to make extra labels for your containers. Try to stick to the same products so that you don't have to keep making more and more labels.
Just to test thing out, I made a quick video of how you would use your phone and the Phomemo app to print out a label. You will want to make sure to do this with the label on the back of the container as well. The app is very user friendly, but you may need to play around with it for a bit to get used to it. Please use both hands so you don't tear the label like i did in this video.
As always, all pictures are links to Amazon products (and in this case one video.) As an Amazon Associate I get commissions from sales, so help a girl out, use my links to place your orders.
